Orange Fruits
Orange is a bright, cheerful color full of energy, and the fruits that wear it are just the same. They’re sweet, juicy, and always ready to put a smile on your face. Oranges may be the most famous of the bunch (in fact, the color was named after the fruit!), but they’re far from the only ones.
That vibrant orange color comes from natural plant pigments called carotenoids. These pigments are found in many fruits and vegetables. They’re what make carrots orange and bananas yellow. One important carotenoid is beta-carotene, which not only gives fruits their sunny glow but also turns into vitamin A in our bodies. This vitamin helps keep our vision sharp, supports healthy skin, and a strong immune system.
Fittingly, many orange fruits grow in warm, tropical climates. You might not be as familiar with fruits like papaya and kumquat as you are with oranges and peaches, but they never fail to bring a burst of color and flavor to your plate.
